Company joins leading U.S. organizations in promoting the value of an engaged and healthy workforce
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Veterans United Home Loans announced today it has pledged to support and participate in the fifth annual National Employee Wellness Month. The month-long initiative helps business leaders learn how to successfully engage employees in healthy lifestyles that can directly impact health care costs, productivity and employee job satisfaction.
"We are excited to join companies all over the nation for National Employee Wellness Month," said Amanda Andrade, chief people officer for Veterans United. "Helping our employees take care of their overall well-being is a priority for the company. We have a dedicated team who focus their workdays on enhancing the lives of others through a host of wellness activities and programs, including a certified fitness and nutrition expert that is on-site each day."
Recently, Veterans United was awarded the Work-Life Seal of Distinction from the Alliance for Work-Life Progress due in part to its life balance department that was created in 2012. The department uses the company's core values - be passionate, deliver results with integrity and enhances lives - as a guide to provide a wide range of unique programs for each employee.
More than 175 companies across the United States and more than 70,000 of their employees have pledged their support to this workplace wellness initiative. National Employee Wellness Month is sponsored by Virgin HealthMiles, in partnership with Strategies to Overcome and Prevent (STOP) Obesity Alliance, the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease and WorldatWork.
