Accomplished business attorney joins the Veterans United team after nearly four years with the University of Missouri System
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Veterans United Home Loans has added Matt Volkert to its team as chief strategy officer. Volkert will help define and implement strategic priorities and initiatives that will allow the company to continue its mission of serving veterans and service members, as well as protect its culture and values.

"Matt's immense knowledge and background will make him an integral part of this team, and an essential part of ensuring our values remain at the forefront of our initiatives that are built on serving our veterans even better."
Volkert previously served as a counsel for the University of Missouri System. While there he represented the university system in numerous areas, focusing most of his efforts on advising, managing and executing special projects and transactions. Prior to that, Volkert was a partner at Van Matre, Harrison, Volkert and Hollis P.C., in Columbia and began his legal career at Jones Day in Chicago. Volkert received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Missouri and a law degree from the University of Michigan.

Volkert has several professional accomplishments, including working as a judicial clerk for Judge Duane Benton, then chief of justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri, and being admitted as a member of the bar in Missouri, Illinois and the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and Northern District of Illinois.
